Striking vintage original portrait, hand-painted directly onto an irregular natural green onyx stone slab. The artwork depicts a Native American man alongside an eagle, with long black hair and detailed red-and-white beadwork.
Signed at the lower right; the signature appears to read “Fernández Ríos.” The individual artist has not been confirmed.
Believed to date from approximately the 1970s–1980s and acquired from the estate of a longtime rock and mineral collector. The polished slab displays beautiful natural cream, amber and pale green coloring with reddish veining. The unpainted reverse reveals the natural stone.
