These wonderfully quirky Japanese shakers feature colorful fruit and vegetable-inspired characters with expressive hand-painted faces, oversized heads, bright Mid-Century colors and lots of personality.
The collection includes six different coordinating character pairs, including the green round-headed figures, tall green characters, yellow-and-green vegetable characters, round green/red characters, peach-colored characters and purple vegetable characters.
Several pieces are visibly marked JAPAN on the underside, and the photographs show original-style cork stoppers on a number of the shakers.
The bright green, chartreuse, yellow, red, purple and pink coloring makes this an especially fun display collection. These are wonderful examples of the whimsical anthropomorphic kitchenware popular during the Mid-Century era.
