Vintage 1980s Paul Lippert Berlin German ceramic beer stein measuring approximately 14.5 inches tall. This substantial stein features an elaborate medieval fantasy scene with a Viking warrior, wizard, dragon, skulls, and dungeon imagery. The sculpted lid forms a seated wizard, while the branch-style handle and raised relief give the piece a dramatic appearance.
This example stands apart because of its exceptionally vibrant colorway. The deep cobalt blue, earthy green, brown, and rich metallic gold accents remain bright and visually striking. The reflective gold bands retain beautiful luster, while the Viking, dragon, skulls, and surrounding scenery remain crisp and highly detailed.
There are several chips and areas of finish loss, including damage to the wizard’s hat and robe and chips around the body and base. These blemishes do not significantly affect the main character faces or the beautiful front-facing presentation and gold trim. Please review all photos carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.
Marked underneath with the Paul Lippert maker’s mark and number 88, believed to be the mold or design number. The sculpted wizard lid is marked Duncan Enterprises ©1980.
A fantastic display piece for collectors of German beer steins, medieval fantasy decor, Vikings, dragons, wizards, or Dungeons & Dragons–inspired collectibles.
