Item Description

• Hey gang, we're back and pleased to offer our friends on an opportunity to take home this unique army green vintage tombstone cantilever style toolbox. Has some numbers stenciled on it. Sure looks military to me, but what do I know, not much when it comes to these things, so don't take my word on it. It is agreed to that at time of sale you are buying based on your own opinions of its origin and maker based on your gut feeling is and the on line research you find, as I cannot confirm either, just going off a gut feeling. As it sits, completely empty this beast of a toolbox weighs a massive 19 pounds, 5 ounces, and thats empty! LOL. Full of tools, its gonna take a strong person to tote this thing around. Lets start w/ some measurements. Item measures approximately 18" long, 12.5" tall, and 10.25" wide. Next up, lets talk condition. We found this gem resting on the dirt floor of an old barn in Trinity County, so the bottom does show signs of rusting, mostly pretty bad surface rust, I dont see any note worthy holes that just jump out at me. There are 3 structural 'ribs' on the bottom, one down the middle, two along the sides, that have sustained the most rust damage as they show signs of rotting and have been structurally compromised to some degree, to what degree I cannot say. The bottom though looks pretty rusty is for the most part pretty intact. I mean if you put tools in it, I highly doubt they would fall out the bottom, but consider its condition disclosed, it may work as is, it may need some TLC. You could easily replace the ribs if you were a welder kinda person or leave as is and see what happens LOL. The other option is to just use it as is as a decor piece in your vintage tool box collection. I dunno. Other than that, there is one cantilever arm to tray rivet that has come undone. I clearly point out this in the video and in the photo gallery, just look for the picture of my big ol' finger pointing to said area. It undoubtedly shows signs of use and age, being decades old, expect some paint loss in areas and everything noted above. I need to make this thing out to sound bad, so hopefully you are pleasantly surprised when you get it, or it may be as bad or worse looking in person LOL.
