This patch belonged to my father, who served aboard the U.S. Navy icebreaker USS Staten Island (AGB-5) during Antarctic operations in 1963. It was one of several USARP patches he retained from his Navy service.
The patch has never been sewn onto a garment. Please see photos of the front, reverse and edge for condition.
Also included in the listing photos is a period photograph of my father aboard the USS Staten Island, along with 1963 USS Staten Island material, as provenance for his Antarctic service. These historical photographs/materials are shown for reference only and are not included with the patch.
