Vintage 1960s Curtiss Baby Ruth 59” Inflatable Display Andy Warhol Pop Art Era For Sale

Rare vintage Curtiss Baby Ruth inflatable candy bar advertising display, measuring just under 5 feet long when inflated.

This is a standout piece of 1960s candy, grocery, advertising, and Pop Art display history. Oversized Baby Ruth inflatables are strongly associated with the Andy Warhol Silver Factory era. A very similar c. 1966 inflatable Baby Ruth was sold by Wright in its Art + Design sale, with the public sale record listing a $1,250 result. Gagosian has also documented Billy Name’s famous 1966 image of Andy Warhol with giant inflatable Baby Ruth bars, noting that Warhol commissioned giant Baby Ruth inflatables for use as props in his unfinished 1966 film Since.

This example is being offered as a period Curtiss Baby Ruth advertising inflatable / display enhancer and as a strong visual comparable to those Warhol-era giant Baby Ruth inflatables. No direct Andy Warhol, Factory, Billy Name, or film-use provenance is claimed or implied.

The inflatable features the bold red Baby Ruth logo with the blue Curtiss mark. Valve area is marked Alvimar MFG Co. It inflates and displays well, as shown in the photos. Water bottle shown only for scale.

Condition:

Vintage used condition with visible age, storage wear, surface dirt, discoloration, wrinkles, creasing, scuffs, and grime from age and handling. Some dirt and wear are present, particularly around seams, edges, and valve area. The dirt is resistant to wiping with water, so I am leaving more aggressive cleaning to the new owner if they are so inclined. Graphics remain bold and highly displayable. Inflated for photos, but long-term air retention has not been guaranteed or professionally tested. Sold as found. Please review all photos closely for condition.
