Condition: Very Good vintage condition. The album cover shows expected edge, corner, and surface wear from age and handling. The original program has creasing, edge wear, and small tears. The photographs remain well preserved with strong image quality.
You will be getting this original 1954 U.S. Army Fort Devens Post Special Services Cast Souvenir Album from the production of Love Rides the Rails (Or Will the Mail Train Run Tonight?), presented at Theatre No. 3 on September 27–28, 1954.
This personalized album was prepared for cast member Tom Cameron, who portrayed Fred Wheelwright. The cover bears his name, and inside is an exceptional record of the production, including the original theater program and numerous original black-and-white production photographs featuring the cast, staged scenes, costumes, sets, and full ensemble performances.
The program credits George Groskritz as Post Entertainment Director and production director, Robert Erickson as Musical Director, and Earl Grathwohl for the production photography. Together, the program and photographs provide an outstanding glimpse into the U.S. Army's Special Services entertainment program during the post-Korean War era, when military installations produced high-quality theatrical performances for service members, their families, and civilian personnel.
