Welcome to Milnor North Dakota in 1907 where things are apparently very moody and everyone is in pain. The front image is a dark atmospheric shot of folks relaxing in a rowboat while someone on horseback casually wades through the river right behind them. But the real star here is our sender Ellen who used the entire right margin to completely overshare. She lets her friend know she intended to write a long letter but has been feeling so miserable with a bad back ache for two weeks that she can barely function. It is the perfect early century excuse to do the bare minimum. As for the physical condition this antique traveler shows typical corner rounding light edge wear and some general age toning. The image itself was printed quite dark which was a common flaw for early small town publishers. The back features a clean undivided layout and a solid 1907 Milnor cancellation mark.

While Ellen complaining about her severe back pain in the margins is hilarious the weirdest part of this postcard is definitely the background of the photo itself. The people in the rowboat are posing perfectly still for the local photographer but there is just a random guy on a horse creeping through the deep water directly behind them. It turns a serene boating picture into a very strange photobomb situation.
