This is a special and unique specimen from Greenland. Comes from Taseq West slope in the ilímaussaq complex outside of Narsaq. It is 2 beautiful pieces in one and works well in white light also. One side is a nicely fluorescent sodalite with full coverage and bright long wave response. If you like sodalite and/or want a piece that represents this area well then this is a good option as the back side is a classic taseq west mix. while I didn't include a midwave flashlight picture of this sodalite side, there is a very mild yet color-involved response with some teals, blues, and purples. Not bright for a display, but it will be interesting to explore with your UV flashlight. On the other side, you have very large Albite crystals in an intricate growth pattern. It is a beautiful look and also represents this area in a way that is seldomly made available.
This side isn't really fluorescent, but there is some response in midwave (see pic attached), it is remarkable none-the-less. I haven't seen a piece like this before and I found nothing like it while there (with the large albite growth). If you like this piece... get it.Size: 5 inch longest dimension.
