Very Good-Plus Condition
Up for sale is a very nice, RARE vintage set of two United States Army Medical books from 1958-1959 titled: SURGERY IN WORLD WAR II by The Office of the Surgeon General, United States Army, Major General S. B. Hays! This is Volume One and Volume Two, pertaining to NEUROSURGERY. These are very detailed medical books explaining and showing how United States Army Doctors and Staff repaired injuries sustained during the Battles of World War II. The books are illustrated with real photos and drawings. These books are a high-quality publication, printed on high-gloss paper. The publication date 1958 and 1959 is found on the title page of each volume.
CONDITION: FOR BOTH BOOKS:
PLEASE NOTE: These books are Ex-Library books from the Huntington Hospital Medical Library, Huntington, NY. The were donated by Dr. J. L. Sengstack in April, 1961. He was chief of staff of the Huntington Hospital from 1955 to 1970. I acquired this set from the estate of another doctor here in North Carolina.
The covers are in very good-plus condition with very light age-expected corner wear. The inside covers are in very good-plus condition, with no cracking or separation present at the hinges, both boards are firmly attached to the binding. The front end paper have stamped and handwritten information pertaining to when they were present to and donated by Dr. Sengstack. The back endpaper has the stamp of the library and the back inside cover has a date due sheet affixed to it. The pages are all in very good-plus condition; the pages are crisp, all pages tight to the binding. The pages have the Huntington Hospital Medical Library info stamped on the top and bottom edges. The spine is in very good-plus condition, the gold gilt lettering is easily read, there are library numbers also handwritten on the spine.
This book set comes from a smoke free home.
