The Brown Derby Restaurant Menu North Vine St., Hollywood Calif. October 22 1943 For Sale

A menu from the iconic Hollywood Restaurant, The Brown Derby. Lunch, October 22, 1943. BThe Derby had 7 restaurants in the Los Angeles area but the Vine Street location was the most famous. Situated close to the movie studios, its clientele featured Hollywoods true royalty in the early days of film making. The front of the menu has the autographs of Edgar Bergen and Charlie (McCarthy). It also has the signature of Jack Norton who back in the day was in over 180 movies, usually playing a drunk. That’s why he wrote “sober” beneath his name.

Included with the menu is a sheet with the autographs of the likes of Cesar Romero, Sunny Tufts, Kay Kyser amongst others (fun research).
