This is a MINT, still in original package Star Fleet Battles Starline 2200 HYDRAN PALADIN DN #7140 in rare first edition BLACK BACK package, a highly collectible miniature ship model inspired by the Star Trek franchise.
Produced by Games Science for Task Force Games in the early the 1970's and used for the Star Fleet Battles board game series under the Starline 2200 name, this is stock #7140 Hydran Paladin DN (Dreadnought). The Hydran Paladin is an original design not found in Star Trek canon, but is tentatively accepted by the community as part of Star Trek history. Perfect for fans of Star Trek and collectors of space ship designs, this black back pack is fully intact with ship model, base, post, quadrant card (base diagram), and assembly and painting instructions. NOTE: This contains LEAD, make sure it is out of reach of children. If you remove from packing it is recommend to paint with primer ASAP to encase the lead.
The blister plastic is in poor condition for being over 40 years old. The bottom of the blister is thin and cracked and does have some yellowing of the plastic. The back is also curled at bottom. Long out of production, it has been stored in a smoke and pet free environment.
Note: Blue Back packs where produced about 15 years later (late 1990's) using a different metal (possibly pewter), and are inferior casting quality than the Black Back production. Black Backs are much more desirable simply for the better production quality.
