I now include a#31 flame control Spring!These springs are necessary in maintaining consistent flame height and protect the valve from becoming blocked,they are tiny& veryeasily lostMY springs are made fromstainless steeland will not rust or corrode like the original. I find lighters frequently are missing this part.

In my experience mineperform better than the original. My springs fit perfectly on the base of the needle valve thus are less likely to be crushed after placing or fall out and be lost if the gas control valve is removed.
