This is a plastic model of the Space Shuttle Atlantis mounted on a wood base that contains a genuine piece of the shuttle’s gold foil cargo bay liner. It was made in a limited edition of only 220. Atlantis flew 33 missions between 1985-2011 and is now permanently housed and displayed as a public attraction at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida. The model is 7.5 inches long and the total height for h the he display is 6.5 inches. It is missing one of the black maneuvering engines on the back (see photo) as has some cosmetic defects.
