Rare Vintage 1965 Argentine SonyBoy Atchan Large 18” Display Advertising Figure
Made as a large store andwindow display, it features the characteristic Sony Boy design, with his yellowsweater and red SONY lettering, and a built-in base bearing Spanish-languageadvertising text: "Televisores / Radios / Grabadores" (Televisions / Radios / Recorders)
The figure is made of molded “unbreakable”plastic and has a swivel head. This large Argentine version is extremely hardto find, as it was produced exclusively for display in Sonyretailers and was not intended for retail sale. It is therefore a particularlyunusual piece of vintage Sony advertising memorabilia.This figure was commissioned by Continental S.A.C.I.F., the officialdistributor of Sony in Argentina,circa 1965.
There are some marks and small nicks from use, as wellas a few dents on the lower part of the base. The head rotatesproperly.
