Up for sale/sale is a highly sought-after, vintage Tony Carter novelty teapot themed after the Titanic. Professionally handmade and hand-painted in Suffolk, England, this stunning piece is styled to look like a blue wicker traveler's steamer trunk.
The highly detailed lid features a miniature vintage camera, a ship captain’s hat, binoculars, and books. The front of the trunk body is adorned with a classic red-and-white "Titanic" life preserver ring.
THE 045/99 RARITY:
While most Tony Carter novelty teapots were mass-produced in large runs of 1,999 to 2,500 pieces, this specific Titanic trunk model belongs to an extremely restricted run of only 99 pieces worldwide. The bottom is fully authenticated with the official Tony Carter stamp and hand-painted with the limited edition serial number 045/99. Because of this microscopic production run, this piece is an incredibly rare find for serious collectors.
CONDITION DETAILS:
* Body, Spout, Handle, & Lid: Excellent vintage condition. There are absolutely NO chips, NO cracks, and NO ceramic crazing lines anywhere on the painted surfaces or details. Colors are beautifully bright and vibrant.
* Base: Shows some very light, minor scuffing/shelf wear on the unglazed white bottom rim from sitting on a display shelf. This is completely standard for vintage art pottery and does not impact display value.
