Rare antique Western Electric combined telephone handset marked “Western Electric Co. U.S.A.” on the ribbed handle and “1005 B” on the metal housing.
The No. 1005 handset was introduced around 1915 and was reportedly designed primarily for the European/export telephone market. It features an early combined receiver and transmitter design, metal housings, a ribbed black handle, curved mouthpiece, and remnants of its original cloth-covered wiring.
A wonderful piece of early telephone history for a Western Electric collector, communications museum, restoration project, industrial display, or period prop.
Only the handset shown is included. No telephone base or additional equipment is present. Internal components and functionality have not been tested.
