An Original Revolutionary War Pay Warrant for Captain Amasa Loomis, for Three Pounds, Eighteen Shillings issued December 22, 1781 by the State of Connecticut Pay-Table Office. Captain Loomis of Lebanon, Connecticut was an officer in the CT Militia and answered the Lexington Alarm in 1775. The Pay Warrant is signed on front by Finn Wadsworth ( a major serving under General Wadsworth and also a Minuteman), by Eleazar Wales ( a Lexington Minuteman who also served in the 3rd Connecticut under General Putnam at the Siege of Boston) , and is also signed vertically (as was his usual practice) by Major Hezekiah Rogers, a Revolutionary War Officer and Aide de Camp to General Huntington. Wales and Rogers signed this Pay Certificate as members of the Connecticut Committee of the Pay Table. 1p approx 6" x 5" with age stains, edge wear, Overall VG. Comes w service info.
