Very Early Model 1877 Antique Miller Falls Co. Cast Metal Egg Beater Hand Drill: $340.00
The Millers Falls Company manufactured some of the most reliable and highly sought-after manual "eggbeater" hand drills in history. These classic woodworking tools feature robust cast metal frames, signature red-painted (not present) gear wheels, and hollow hardwood handles designed to hold extra drill bits. I could not discover what model this drill represents. I had my antique guy look at it and he believes this is probably one of Millers Falls First renditions of there iconic egg beater hand drills. there is a patent date on the chuck Aug 14 1877. The company started in 1872. So this is a pretty rare find if your looking of a collectors piece. The total length is 10" instead of the usual 8" Its mechanism most closely follows the no 4 design. Its chuck is something i have never seen before. The bits inside the handle are either broken or of some make or design i am unaware of.
