Rare antique copper souvenir from Butte, Montana, featuring highly detailed raised/embossed scenes of Butte’s historic copper-mining district.The wraparound design depicts multiple famous Butte landmarks and mines, including the Anaconda Mine, Neversweat Mine, St. Lawrence Mine, Marcus Daly Memorial, and “Richest Hill in the World” imagery. The lower border is marked “Souvenir of Butte, Mont.”Especially unusual construction with three-dimensional mine buildings and headframes extending above the rim. The bottom features an original-looking colorful period illustration inset into the base.Believed to date to the early 20th century, likely circa 1907–1920s, based on the landmarks depicted and overall construction/style. Butte mining souvenirs from this era were produced in numerous forms, though this elaborate example appears considerably less common. Butte was internationally known for its copper industry and “Richest Hill” identity.Condition: Antique condition with age-related wear, oxidation, dark patina and small areas of green verdigris.
