This is an original oil painting by American Artist Chris Jenkins. The painting, entitled "Cascades", depicts a Northern Pacific EMD locomotive leading a local freight. It is a cold, clear winter day with a fresh snowfall. The locomotive pushes the light snow over the embankment into the tree tops below.
