Design based entirely on the famous Mauser 98kRifle cleaning kits of WW2 era these are truly good conditionsurplus Post War German Rifle Cleaning Kits for the 7.62mm G3 Rifle plastic-version.
Identical to the WW2 Can but manufactured from a lighter moredurable metal with two brushes with synthetic bristles, pull throughchain and plastic hypodermic type oiler, complete with lowercompartment for gauze, cleaning patch, etc. Two different markingsare seen: one version has Rg. f. Gew. stamped inside the lid to thelower compartment. The abbreviation stands for Reinigungsgerate furGewehr, or Cleaning Equipment for Rifle. There is also a date.
Theother type is marked on the flat of the can RG 34, plus a stocknumber and a date. This one is particularly interesting, since itstill uses the prewar designation of Reinigungsgerate 34, althoughthe manufacture dates are in the late fifties.
