About Air Vehicle 1 (AV-1):
AV-1 (USAF Serial No. 82-1066) is the historic first B-2 Spirit stealth bomber ever built. Unveiled in Palmdale, CA in 1988 and taking its maiden flight in July 1989, AV-1 served as the primary flight-test prototype at Edwards Air Force Base before being rebuilt and operationalized as the Spirit of America.
