Offered in this listing a fantastic take on Disney World\'s \"Peg Leg Pete,\" also known as the original Pirates Of The Caribbean attraction barker parrot. He\'s now found a place greeting guests inside The Beak and Barrel Lounge. This figure was a limited edition of 500 pieces offered to attendees of \"Adventures on the 7 Seas Lagoon,\" a special, one-time event held at the Disney Contemporary Resort in Florida from May 22 to May 25, 2007.
Made of molding resin and cloth, the craftsmanship of this 11 inch tall piece is outstanding. The paintwork is superior in detail and color with Pete\'s silver stand (complete with a small pull drawer) resembling true galvanized metal. Kudos to the creative team.
Something not noted when the piece was originally sold, the sculpture appears to have taken inspiration from Imagineer legend Marc Davis\' original concept illustrations -- see included image. Another photo I\'ve posted shows fellow legend Xavier \"X\" Antencio inspecting Pete with a Marc Davis drawing tacked on the wall behind him. Was X writing Pete\'s voiceover script? This example is far superior to a mass produced Pete parrot figure mounted on a blue disc sold a couple of years ago.
