Offered here isa remarkable survivor from the early era of superhero collectibles: a full open original display wax box of 1979 Topps Marvel Comics Bubble Gum, containing all 96 sealed 5¢ gumpacks. Originally released as novelty comics for kids, each pack contains asmall comic sheet and a piece of bubble gum, all wrapped in color wax paper,much like classic Bazooka Joe comics, featuring Spider-Man, Hulk, CaptainAmerica and Fantastic Four. A total of 33 comics make up a full set. This rareand visually striking display box spotlights classic Marvel super-heroes.Original boxes included a total of 96 pieces of gum wrapped in comics and thisopen box contains all 96 packs. Thepacks are well preserved and are in excellent condition. The original waxdisplay box with a die-cut lid exhibits notable wear on the edges and cornersand has creasing. The die-cut is mostly punched through, but the box is intact and isfairly clean. Please look at the photos for a more detailed description.
