Front: Color chrome view of the stone Animal Pavilion at the Swope Park Zoological Gardens in Kansas City, Missouri. The rough-cut limestone building rises to a gabled end with a large arched multi-pane window and deep tiled eaves, framed by overhanging tree branches. Visitors in period clothing walk the sidewalk past the entrance, and a balloon vendor stands beside the painted \"SWOPE PARK ZOOLOGICAL GARDENS\" sign at right. Bicycles lean against the wall, and beds of red cannas and other flowers bloom along the lawn in the foreground.
Reverse: Divided back, unused, printed in green. Caption reads \"KC-17—SWOPE PARK ZOO. The Swope Park animal Pavilion has been a constant source of delight for children and adults alike. Located in Kansas City\'s spacious Swope Park, the Zoo attracts thousands of visitors annually.\" Side credits read \"KANSAS DISTRIBUTING CO., JUNCTION CITY, KANSAS\" and \"CURTEICHCOLOR 3-D NATURAL COLOR REPRODUCTION (REG. U.S.A. PAT. OFF.).\" Stamp box print code 0DK-1093. The Curteich dating code points to 1960 production. No handwriting, stamp, or postmark.
Condition: Unposted with rich color and a sharp image. Light edge and corner wear with a small bump at the upper right, a few faint pale spots and light toning along the top edge of the reverse. Gray panels and vertical lines at the right of both scans are scanner artifacts, not defects in the card.
