Presented today is this lovely Hopi Kachina doll, depicting the very rarely seen or carved Navajo Longhair Kachina. While he has the same purpose as the Longhair Kachina, he is also associated with a Navajo aspect of this spirit. Very complicated. This beautifully dramatic example,standing 13 inches tall, was carved by the talented and respectedcarver, Martin Dallas, of Moencopi. Martin carves with a with a sensitivevitality, and his work is always reverent and sincere.
