This attractive 1.48-inch Megalodon tooth(2.25 inches including the bale)has warn serrations and an attractive dark brownish grey fossil enamel coating. The custom designed 24 Karat gold plated cap with bale, is accented with an oval-shaped Australian Opal doublet.
The teeth of the giant ancient shark, Megalodon, are among the most prized specimens for the prehistoric fossil collector. They are similar to those of today's Great White, but considerably larger. They were the largest carnivorous fish ever to have swum the oceans of our planet reaching lengths of up to 70 feet. They lived between 1.5 to 28 million years ago.
