Description: For sale is a CDV portrait of a man with a thick neck beard who is seen posing in front of an attractive painted backdrop. The backdrop features soft rolling hills and trees. The man rests his hand on a decorative column with a large ball at top and he stands on a patterned hardwood floor inside the photo studio. There is a pencil inscription of someone's name on the back side, but it is very hard for me to make out. Photographer backmark for Moran & Brusstar of Philadelphia. 1860s date for this photo.
Condition: Good. One small black spot to the left of the circular ball and one spot above the man's head. Corners of the backing paper are trimmed and rounded, most likely to fit the photo in an album at one point. Otherwise good content and clarity with an appealing backdrop.
