This is a large, 27.4 gram, nugget shaped piece of Burmite (Burmese) amber with a beautiful blue purple color. This piece has been polished. This amber was from plants that coexisted with the dinosaurs including T-Rex and Triceratops. It could be used in carving or jewelry.
The amber fossil itself has a beautiful, all-natural blue purple color when observed in natural sunlight. All pictures were taken in natural sunlight. The piece has a deep red color when viewed in artificial light.
The piece itself weighs 27.4 grams with approximate dimensions of 5.1 cmlength by2.5 cm width and 2.5 cm height. NOTE: 2.54 cm is 1 inch.

Burmese (Burmite)amber has been dated to be Cretaceous in age (around 100 million years old) and would have been sticky resin during the time of the dinosaurs.

Please note that thesaltwater test to identify real from fake amber is not reliable. The saltwatertest claims that real amber will float in saltwater while fake amber will sink.
However, many ambersources or even specimens will not float in saltwater as their botanical(plant) composition as well as fossil inclusions are such that they are moredense than saltwater and so sink. I do not sell fake amber. My response shouldhelp demonstrate this.
