Originally created in 1990 to potentially jump-start a cartoon series and an all-new series of action figures and toys, BRUTE FORCE were animals that were cybernetically engineered to become soldiers for nasty multi-national corporation -- but they formed a team and rebelled. The team was pulled out of obscurity in 1999 for two issues of Thunderbolts in 1999 and then again in 2014 for a more tongue-in-cheek appearance in the Deadpool Bi-Annual. The more recent Weapon Plus specials retconned Brute Force as being an early part of the same project that also created WOLVERINE and DEADPOOL. Still, it was Disney\'s animated short, Brute Force, from 2020 on the new Disney+ series Marvel 616 -- and that short\'s potential to be picked up the full-on animated series -- that has put Brute Force back into the public eye.
While chances of Brute Force becoming any part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are slim, the animated series remains an open prospect for the streaming giant. For the time being, the book remains a unique read with sound potential as Disney Future Spec.
