Wonderful original antique photograph depicting a family posed outside their rural home, circa 1890s.
This is an especially appealing slice-of-life image with an abundance of period detail. Several family members are positioned around the property, including a woman standing beside a saddled white horse, another woman and man in front of the house, and an older bearded gentleman seated near a dog on the porch. The large old frame farmhouse, porch, shutters, mature trees and landscaping make an excellent backdrop.
A particularly nice image for collectors of early photography, rural Americana, horses, dogs, Victorian-era domestic life, farmhouses and social history.
