Antique Stanley Bailey No. 8 Jointer Plane 1902-1907 Woodworking Tool - Type 9 ? For Sale

Antique Stanley Bailey No. 8 Type 9 jointer plane dating to approximately 1902-1907. The plane has the two patent dates of MAR-25-02 and AUG-19-02 cast into the bed and has the early Type 9 features including the low front knob, 1\" brass depth adjustment wheel, plain lever cap, STANLEY marked lateral adjustment lever without the earlier patent date, and no frog adjustment screw. The plane is in very nice overall cosmetic condition for its age and appears to have been cleaned/polished at some point prior to my ownership. Despite the bright appearance, there is still visible age-related patina, pitting, oxidation, staining, scratches and general wear throughout. The wood handles also show age and wear. I do not see any obvious cracks, breaks or repairs to the main casting. The iron is Stanley marked. This is a very nice example of an early Stanley No. 8 that displays extremely well. Please see all photos closely for the exact condition and everything included. I am not an expert on antique Stanley planes. Based on my research and the identifying features of this plane, I believe this to be a Type 9. Please review all photos and use your own judgment regarding the exact type, age, originality and condition prior to purchase. 24\" in length and the sole is 3\" in width.
