Genuine antique silverplate matchbox/menu card holder from the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, Mayfair, London.
Made by Mappin & Webb under their \"Prince\'s Plate — Triple Deposit\" line, London & Sheffield. Clearly marked and numbered (W11423) on the underside of the base.
The clip stand is hand-engraved with the hotel\'s architectural crest and \"Grosvenor House\" in script — originally used tableside to hold matches or a menu card. Sits on a round dished base with rolled rim and knopped stem.
Condition: Shows honest age — light tarnish and surface scratches consistent with decades of use, no dents or structural damage. Please see photos, which are part of the description.
