Antique Benedict Manufacturing Co. Viking Silver small hinged trinket or jewelry box featuring a striking Viking/nautical motif.
The exterior features dark contrasting decoration with a stylized Viking ship and rising sun design along the sides and additional imagery on the lid. The interior is divided into two small compartments.

The 1931 is believed to be the Benedict pattern/model number rather than a date.

3" wide x 2¼" deep x 1¾" high
This is Viking Silver, a Benedict trade/line name, and is not being represented as sterling silver.
Condition
Antique pre-owned condition with substantial age-related patina, tarnishing, discoloration, scratches, surface wear and finish loss. Interior shows considerable wear and discoloration as photographed. There are also small dark/greenish areas consistent with oxidation of the underlying metal.
The aged surface has not been polished or restored and is being left in its found condition.
Hinged lid opens and closes. Please review all photographs closely as they are an important part of the condition description.
A great little piece of early American Arts & Crafts metalwork and a particularly interesting Benedict Viking Silver design.
