Antique Bull Durham Smoking Tobacco “A Royal Victor” Advertising Display – Copyright 1909 American Tobacco Co.
Offered is an early Bull Durham Smoking Tobacco advertising piece featuring the famous “A Royal Victor” bullfighting scene.
The lower portion is clearly marked:
“COPYRIGHT 1909, AMERICAN TOBACCO CO”
The advertisement remains housed in its old wooden advertising frame with faded “BULL DURHAM” lettering across the lower frame rail.
Overall framed dimensions are approximately 35" wide × 23.5" high × 1" deep.
This piece displays beautifully and has wonderful early tobacco-advertising graphics. The frame shows age-related scratches, scuffs, finish loss and general wear. The advertisement itself shows age, toning and other expected signs of use/display. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.
The back retains its old paper covering and hanging wire. I have not removed the advertisement from the frame, cleaned it, restored it, or disturbed the backing.
A great piece for a collection of Bull Durham, American Tobacco Company, country store, tobacco, general store, or early American advertising memorabilia.
