Antique Fourth of July patriotic postcard featuring a colorful illustration of Uncle Sam holding a large red firecracker against a deep blue background. The front reads “For A Merry 4th” in raised gold lettering and has classic stars-and-stripes imagery throughout Uncle Sam’s clothing and hat.
The reverse identifies the card as American Post Card Co., New York, published by The Ullman Manufacturing Co., New York, and is marked Series No. 192, Subject No. 2049. Card was mailed and bears a July 3, 1908 postmark with a green Benjamin Franklin one-cent stamp. Handwritten correspondence and address remain on the reverse.
Condition shows noticeable age and handling wear, including edge and corner wear, small losses/chipping along the upper edge and upper-left corner, surface creasing, discoloration, and general handling wear. Despite the wear, the front retains strong color and displays very well. Please review photos closely for complete condition.
A great early Independence Day / July 4th postcard with highly collectible Uncle Sam and firecracker imagery.
