This heavy chrome plated bottle opener and cork screw was made in 1929 by the NEGBAUR COMPANY, Patented USA. AND DESIGNED BY MANUAL AVILLAR.
Its distinctive linear deco feathers on each side and the stepped base reflect the stylistic elements of that era. The piece is titled POLLY PARROT and the bottle opener upper portion is an abstract of a beak. It is nouveau in its styling and a real attention getter.
The chrome plating has no rash, blistering or rust. The fold up corkscrew is as sharp as the day it was manufactured. It is unbent and conceals when folded down into the recess of the figures chest. Inside this recess can be seen PATD NE. On the outside on the lateral side of the steps in tiny raised letters can be seen NEUBAUER USA.
The base is unmarred as is the entire piece. Height 5” tall . See pic
