Carcharodontosaurus was an enormous theropod dinosaur that lived in North Africa during the Cretaceous Period. Its name means shark-toothed lizard, referring to the large, blade-like teeth that lined its jaws. It was among the largest terrestrial predators known, reaching a size comparable to some of the largest theropod dinosaurs ever discovered.
