~ Aug 30, 1934 ~Original large format 5 x 7" film negative. Photographed at Bloomington IL in 1934 by the documentary photographer Charles Medin. Looking at this intersection on Google maps ~ the only remnant remaining of this lovely, tree-shaded, old neighborhood is the LaFayette Apartments (the tall building in background).
Charles Medin was artist/photographer and then assistant editor of the Illinois Central Magazine, circa 1900s to 1949. His images are well-known to railfans as he documented railroads and city street scenes across the Eastern & Southern states.
