1850s-1880s Victorian Scrapbook with Loose Ephemera Antique Collectable Book For Sale

A wonderful Victorian scrapbook containing cut-outs, articles and leaflets, sketches, watercolours, manuscript poetry, tipped-in notes and artistic drafts, loose handritten notes, and some particularly sweet examples of pressed ferns and seaweed. Only a few dates written in between the 1850s and 1880s, but there is a booklet from the 1920s slipped in too, so the book may have been used by multiple generations. Around 70 pages used with a few blanks.In good condition with both hinges cracked, corners bumped, a few small nicks and splits in the cloth, a few botanicals broken or loose and the odd bit of foxing. All pages holding. Bound in a typically Victorian green cloth with bird motif and gilt title to front cover. 32 x 26 cm. Unpaginated.
