This "eccentric flint" (though they were typically made of chert or obsidian) is a specimen from Belize made between 500 - 800 AD by the Maya. Though knapping stone in the same manner as this was common for weaponry in the Americas, this ornate piece was likely used ceremonially for blood letting (this describes the original artifact, not the replica listed here)
