Up for sale is a vintage VIDPRO CARD for the ACCLAIM game KRUSTY'S FUN HOUSE FEATURING THE SIMPSONS! for the Nintendo Entertainment System. These cards feature the original full-color box art of the games and are double sided with the art, game screens and game descriptions from the back of the game box printed on the card's reverse side. These cards were used at Toys 'R' Us during the game's original release in 1991. They were displayed in the games aisle and represented all the games that were carried by Toys 'R' Us. Each Vidpro card was displayed with a vinyl hanger that held paper vouchers that each represented a physical copy of the game in the store's current inventory. The customer used these cards to know the store's inventory and current stock. Seeing these cards brought crazed excitement to the kids looking to buy the game they represented (unless the hanger had a "Sold Out" tag instead of the "In Stock" vouchers). :'-( Each Toys 'R' Us store would receive one Vidpro card per title for as long as the store carried that title. Once the game was discontinued, these cards would be taken down and thrown away to make room for new titles. They were never made available to the public. This Vidpro card is 1st edition, and made of card stock. I worked at Toys 'R' Us in the game dept. during this time and I thought they were cool, so I kept them after the store was through with them. I am the only private owner of these cards since they were retired from use at TRU. They have been stored by platform, in old NES shipper boxes in my smoke-free home for the last 25+ years. I have never displayed them or even removed them from their storage boxes in that whole time, until recently. This card is in EXCELLENT + condition. The colors are bright and sharp. There is no fading, creasing, or discoloration. Like new. Please see the photos for the best details of description and condition. This sale is for the card, not the game it depicts. These cards are part of gaming history and are quite rare, especially in this condition. They would look great framed and displayed with your video game collection!
